A rare surviving example of Thai Sawankhalok kiln ware, this covered box features hand-painted iron-brown floral and scrollwork motifs beneath a warm cream-toned glaze, with a bold triangle border encircling the lid. Recovered from a documented shipwreck site and professionally restored, this piece carries centuries of maritime history, evidenced by natural glaze crackling, oxidation staining, and old collector's inventory tag still affixed to the lid.
