ANTIQUE JAPANESE CLOISONNE TWO-PIECE DRAGON BELT BUCKLE MEIJI ERA ENAMEL BRASS

Beautiful antique two-piece Japanese cloisonne belt buckle featuring detailed dragon motifs against a black enamel ground with light blue scrolling cloud borders. The two interlocking plates connect via a brass hook closure on the reverse. The dragons are rendered in teal, green, white, and red enamel with gilt wire cloisons. The reverse shows green enamel backing typical of Meiji-era cloisonne pieces. A wonderful collectible example of Japanese enamel craftsmanship.
