STRIKING SOUTHWEST STERLING SILVER GREEN MALACHITE INLAY RING
This bold and handsome ring features a dramatic oval face with stunning green malachite inlay work divided into four geometric segments by silver dividers creating a striking X pattern, set atop a wide silver band featuring deeply detailed stampwork including a stylized thunderbird on one side and traditional sun face cross and line motifs on the other, showcasing excellent early Southwest artisan craftsmanship. • MATERIALS: Sterling silver, green malachite inlay stones, 8.7 grams • ERA: Vintage, circa 1940s-1950s, early Southwest silver period • MAKER/MARKS: Unmarked • MEASUREMENTS: Size 7, ring face approximately 3/4" x 5/8" (1.9 x 1.6 cm), wide tapered band • CONDITION: Very good vintage condition with honest age-appropriate wear. All four green malachite inlay segments secure and intact displaying rich deep green color with natural banding. Silver dividers between stones crisp and well defined. Thunderbird and cross stampwork on band sides clear and well executed with deep oxidation in recessed areas enhancing the detailed design. Heavy cast band retains good shape with no bending or distortion. Minor surface wear and patina consistent with age. No chips to inlay stones, no repairs noted. A particularly well executed example of early Southwest artisan inlay and stampwork from a desirable earlier period of production.
